Miguel Harth-Bedoya is a master of color, drawing idiomatic interpretations from a wide range of repertoire in concerts across the globe.  

Celebrating more than 30 years of professional conducting at the highest levels, Harth-Bedoya has a deep commitment to passing his experience on to the next generation of conductors. As of August 2020, he is the Director of Orchestral Studies at the University of Nebraska, Omaha, working to create a brand new, groundbreaking Bachelor of Music program in orchestral conducting. He has also created The Conducting Institute, with a summer orchestral conducting program as well as a variety of online courses.

Harth-Bedoya has amassed considerable experience at the helm of orchestras, including recently completing tenures as Chief Conductor of the Norwegian Radio Orchestra - a post he held for seven seasons - and twenty seasons as Music Director of the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, where he now holds the title of Music Director Laureate and will conduct regularly. Previously he has held Music Director positions with the Auckland Philharmonia and Eugene Symphony.

Sylvia Falcón is an avant-garde and innovative singer. Her proposal goes from the traditional music of the Andes of Peru, the mestizo, and coastal melodies to the eclectic sounds of electronic music. Her extraordinary display of high, medium, and low voices can be enjoyed in the 4 studio albums she has recorded: Killa Lluqsimun "When the Moon comes out" (2008), Inkario (2014), Fantasía Pokcra (2016), and Qori Coya "Dama de Gold ”(2018). Furthermore, she has collaborated with bands such as Novalima (Chusay -2018), Dj Mala (Sound of River - 2016), or El Polen (2015).

Her refined audiovisual aesthetic proposal set a new benchmark in the production of Peruvian music, noticeable in her Video Clips. Sylvia Falcón was born in Lima and developed a strong bond with the Andes due to her parent’s influence, both native of the Huancavelica and Ayacucho provinces. From a very early age, she demonstrated her artistic virtues that were enhanced throughout her childhood and adolescence. Sylvia Falcón is an anthropologist from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos del Peru, a producer, researcher, and artist dedicated to capturing the beauty of the ancient Inca culture.

She has recently released the song “Machu Picchu”, by the composer Carmela Russell, and is preparing to launch the song “Alas y Libertad”, of her own authorship, as a commemoration of the Peruvian Bicentennial of Independence.

Pilar de la Hoz, considered the First Lady of Peruvian jazz,  has a musical career of more than 20 years, where she has integrated various melodies to achieve a delicious mix of national flavor.

Pilar, renowned Peruvian singer,  has dedicated body and soul to the promotion  of Peruvian Creole music, bossa nova, jazz, Peruvian jazz, all around the world.  Pilar is characterized by her musical nuances which she expresses not only in our rich Spanish, but also in English, Portuguese, French, Italian  and Quechua. 

Pilar de la Hoz shaped a safe route and this allowed her to be critically acclaimed in her country and go abroad in a natural way. She has participated in several Jazz and World Music Festivals, not only in Perú, but also in South America, Europe and the U.S.A.

Pilar de la Hoz already has 5 albums recorded and two in process.

Charles "Chuck" Walker is professor of history and director of the Hemispheric Institute on the Americas at the University of California, Davis. He also directs the Global Centers for Latin America and the Caribbean. His books include the graphic history, Witness to the Age of Revolution: The Odyssey of Juan Bautista Tupac Amaru, with the artist Liz Clarke; The Tupac Amaru Rebellion, named one of the best books of the year by the Financial Times and also the recipient of the Hundley Prize from the Pacific Coast Branch of the American Historical Association; Shaky Colonialism: The 1746 Earthquake-Tsunami in Lima, Peru and its Long Aftermath; Smoldering Ashes: Cuzco and the Transition from Colony to Republic, all translated into Spanish.

His translations include Alberto Flores Galindo’s Buscando un Inca/In Search of an Inca and José Carlos Agüero's The Surrendered: Reflections of the Son of the Shining Path. In 2020-21 he oversaw a museum exhibit on Túpac Amaru and Micaela Bastidas at Peru's Memory Museum, LUM.

He currently leads a project funded by the UCLA Modern Endangered Archive Project to digitalize the Confederación Campesina Peruana archive.

Natalia Sobrevilla

Natalia Sobrevilla is professor of Latin American history and politics at the University of Kent. Professor Sobrevilla Perea’s interests include state formation and political culture in the Andes from the end of the colonial period throughout the nineteenth century, as well as issues of identity, race and ethnicity, and military culture in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries in South America. She has published on a wide range of issues, from economic to social history, and has a special interest in intellectual history and constitutionalism. Her monograph The Caudillo of the Andes: Andres de Santa Cruz was published by Cambridge University Press in 2011 and in 2015 it was published in Spanish by the Instituto de Estudios Peruanos.

Artisan Kathiana Lisbeth Quispe Mejia was born and grew up in Cusco,Peru.

Her dad and her family have been dedicated to the peltry business for over 30 years. Their family has dedicated years to creating a line of handmade leather accessories. They use carving or embossing and hand-painted techniques, combining them with traditional hand-colored and hand-weave textiles from the high Andean areas of Cusco, where they work with different women communities.

They use conventional Peruvian materials and combine them with leather to create beautiful one-of-a-kind handbags, shoes, and keychains, among other unique accessories.

The Mejia family products have begun selling internationally through Novica & Peru Gift Shop.

Edgar Mamani from Sicuani, Cusco has dedicated over 15 years to create beautiful handmade baby alpaca toys.

He has delighted young kids and adults with his one-of-a-kind handmade toys, from lions to penguins to teddy bears to customize toys. He has given jobs to over 15 families that work with him. These families work cutting, stitching, and sewing the softest baby alpaca toys.

Their work is available in different markets, including Asia & the United States.

César Urbano

César Urbano Chipana was born in Ayacucho, Peru, on November 4, 1955. He is the son of the artisan Julio Urbano Rojas.

He has more than 50 years of experience in the art of the Retablo Ayacuchano (Ayacucho Altarpiece) art having started his first works at the age of 9. He has been awarded the Joaquín López Antay medal in 2017, one of the highest decorations awarded by the Peruvian State to artisans in Peru.

Mr. Urbano created the altarpiece that was given to Pope Francis during his visit to Peru, in January 2018. His artworks participated in the acclaimed Peruvian film “Retablo”.

Currently, he leads his family workshop "Retablos Urbano S.A.C."

I am a Quechua scholar and activist, instructor of Quechua language, and a member of a Quechua community in Apurimac region, Peru. Currently I am studying a PhD program in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Texas at Austin. My research interest is the field of Indigenous Media, particularly the media response of Quechua indigenous people in the Andes of South America. In 2018 and 2019 I taught Quechua language at the University of Delaware as part of the program of Foreign Language Teaching Assistant of Fulbright (FLTA). I got my BA degree in Journalism at the Public University of San Antonio Abad in Cusco City, Peru. I have two MA degrees, in Public Policy from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru and in Iberian and Latin American Languages and Literatures from The University of Texas at Austin.

I am a Quechua scholar and activist who was born and grew up in Sicuani, a small town of Cusco in the south of Peru. I hold holds a MA in Social Management in Public Policy from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, a MA in Social Business Management for Social Innovation and Local Development from Universidad EAFIT Colombia, and a bachelor's degree in Journalism from the Public University of San Antonio Abad in Cusco City, Peru.

Aside from her PhD, I am currently running socially engaged projects in the Peruvian Andes (Cusco and Apurimac regions) with Quechua communities and the support of local governments, and the United States Embassy in Peru. My experience as a researcher and consultant for nonprofit organizations motivate me to explore “development” from an indigenous approach. Particularly, the role of indigenous policies in “developmental” programs and projects in Peru and Latin America, with emphasis on those that are being implemented in indigenous communities.

Johnny Schuler, CEO of Pisco La Caravedo, is a renowned taster, chef and the itinerant ambassador of the Portón brand in the world, who met precisely by those coincidences of life with pisco.

The beginning of this new passion of Johnny Schuler made him become much more than the undisputed ambassador of pisco. He not only promoted it, but also defended it with his soul. Hand in hand with the private sector and various government agencies, he led the fight for pisco to have the Peruvian denomination of origin. And he succeeded.

Respected around the world for his expertise, he continues his work as a pisco ambassador; he speaks regularly at wine and spirits tasting events and competitions, including the prestigious Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, where he has been a juror for several years. His experience and enthusiasm for pisco can be seen in his program, "Por Las Rutas del Pisco" which was broadcast nationally on TV Peru.

We are honored to continue to count on him actively, expanding our line of piscos and promoting our national drink. The one that Johnny himself taught us to enjoy and love.

As a Chef Partner of Pisco y Nazca DC, Mauricio Chirinos not only brings authenticity and passion to his role, but an organic approach to Peruvian cuisine. He proudly joined the Centurion Restaurant Group to work at the Doral (FL) location in 2018, before relocating to the nation's capital. 

Born and raised in Lima, Peru, Mauricio started his career as a chef, shortly after moving to the U.S. in the early 2000’s and worked at several Peruvian eateries in South Florida. Prior to serving as the Executive Chef of Francesco, one of the most acclaimed Italian-Peruvian restaurants headquartered in Lima for several years, Mauricio obtained a Master of Business Administration from Ana G. Mendez University and a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Universidad Mayor de San Marcos. Inspired by his insatiable quest to discover new flavors, his extensive traveling throughout different Peruvian regions helped him to understand and try the hidden treasures of traditional cuisine embedded in regional eateries, markets, and bodegas across the country. His gastronomic curiosity led him to explore flavors beyond the borders in culinary hotspots located in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile and other places in South America and the U.S.

Chef Cristian Granada came from a family of cooks with his grandfather as his biggest inspiration. Following this legacy, he received a culinary degree from “Fundación Universitaria del Área Andina” in Colombia and certifications in French cuisine and molecular gastronomy before landing his first job at the prestigious “Ámbar” restaurant in Pereira, Colombia. In New York City, he worked and gained exposure to different types of cuisines that led him to where he is today. Now in Washington DC., Chef Cristian Granada worked with “Design Cuisine”, “The Palm”, and the Michelin star winner Xiquet before joining “Latin Concepts” as its Corporate Chef and taking on the role of Executive Chef at “El Secreto de Rosita” and “Sushería”.

Roberto Seminario, is a realism graffiti artist.

​He was born in Lima, Peru on December 28, 1984. He grew up with his parents and brother in the historic Pueblo-Libre district where he began his first jobs as a graffiti artist.

He began to paint at the age of 17 because of the desire to be in the streets, sharing with his neighbors and friends. This is how he begins his Adventure in Graffiti art.

His works in Realism Graffiti highlights children, where Roberto focuses on the message of innocence and purity. A clear and main message for the artist.

Over time Sef's name has evolved from wild-style Graffiti to Realism Graffiti and his mission is to convey those art concepts and ideas in a direct way. He has connected spray painting to realism in Graffitti in such a way that it has ended up being his personal art style, a style that has led him to paint in 24 countries around the world. His goal is to connect with communities and urban art to leave the legacy of his work and his ideas around the world.
